Uzbekistan Ministry of Agriculture Discusses Investments in Agriculture and Food Industry with CPF

Another round of political consultations took place on September 7, 2026, in Yerevan between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan and Armenia. The delegations were headed by Deputy Foreign Ministers Bobur Usmanov and Mnatskakan Safaryan.

The parties discussed the current state and prospects for developing bilateral interaction in political, trade, economic, as well as cultural and humanitarian spheres. Furthermore, they reviewed the successes in implementing tasks set during contacts at the highest and high levels.

Participants confirmed mutual interest in expanding the legal framework of bilateral relations and strengthening cooperation in international forums. Special attention was paid to practical methods for realizing the potential of joint work in areas such as industrial cooperation, transport and logistics, agriculture, digital technologies, tourism, and education.

Following the meeting, an agreement was reached to maintain close coordination between the two ministries of foreign affairs. The parties intend to enhance practical interaction on a wide range of issues included in the bilateral agenda.

The Chairman of the Food Safety Committee of Uzbekistan, Azizbek Urunov, met with international expert and director of AMC Overseas FZE, Suvra Chakrabarty, to discuss ways to increase the country's export potential in agricultural and food products.

The Food Safety Committee of Uzbekistan noted that the parties reviewed opportunities to expand access for local producers and exporters to global markets, as well as improve export processes in line with modern requirements.

Special attention was paid to strengthening the practical knowledge and skills of local exporters. Discussions covered international market analysis, searching for foreign buyers, and conducting effective negotiations with potential partners.

Participants also discussed the practical aspects of organizing export supplies, including proper adherence to logistics and customs procedures, product certification according to international standards, and preparation of necessary documentation.

During the meeting, it was emphasized that the competitiveness of products in foreign markets depends not only on quality; packaging, storage conditions, supply chain management, and increasing added value also play an important role.

The participants exchanged views on applying international experience in these areas, taking into account the conditions in Uzbekistan and providing practical assistance to local entrepreneurs.

During the 2025–2026 period, educational seminars involving Chakrabarty were held in the regions of Uzbekistan for representatives of dehqan and farming enterprises, as well as entrepreneurs.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to continue educational programs aimed at exchanging international practical experience. The Committee emphasized the significance of international experts' practical experience for increasing the export potential of local entrepreneurs, enhancing the competitiveness of Uzbek products in external markets, and expanding the geographical scope of Uzbekistan's food exports.

In Tashkent, Uzbekistan and the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) held a meeting on September 3rd to discuss the current state and prospects for further bilateral interaction.

The meeting took place between Munira Aminova, advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, and Kim Myung Jin, the new director of the KOICA office in Uzbekistan.

During the negotiations, KOICA's significant involvement in implementing social and infrastructure projects in Uzbekistan was noted. The parties paid particular attention to cooperation opportunities in the fields of artificial intelligence and digitalization.

The prospects for implementing AI technologies in the healthcare, agriculture, and education sectors were discussed. Furthermore, the agenda included issues of climate change and water resource management.

Participants expressed mutual interest in further expanding the partnership and developing new joint initiatives, taking into account Uzbekistan's national development priorities and the experience of the Republic of Korea.

The importance of close coordination and regular exchange of views in determining promising directions and projects for future cooperation was also emphasized.
