Uno Minda plans to invest 1415 crore rupees to increase production capacity

Uno Minda has announced plans for strategic expansion across all its business verticals, aimed at strengthening production capacities in key divisions. The total planned capital expenditure amounts to 1415 crore rupees.

These funds will be used to establish a new aluminum casting unit in Hosur, Tamil Nadu, and to expand and relocate operations for manufacturing lightweight wheels for two-wheelers in Kharkhode, Haryana.

Since the existing facility in Hosur has reached the limit of practical expansion, the company will construct a new site on vacant land at Talli Road, Hosur, with additional capital expenditure of 510 crore rupees. The company stated that current operations in Hosur will be consolidated and moved to the new facility by the first quarter of FY2. The aluminum casting capacity in Hosur will increase from approximately 13,000 metric tons to 34,000 metric tons at peak period.

Furthermore, the company received Board of Directors approval to build a lightweight wheel manufacturing plant for two-wheelers with a capacity of 3.3 million units in Kharkhode, Haryana, with an additional capital expenditure of 155 crore rupees. This initiative includes the strategic relocation of 2 million units of existing capacity from Supa, Maharashtra, to the Kharkhode plant.

This plant will be implemented in phases over the next two years, with the first phase expected to commence production by the fourth quarter of FY28.

In addition, the company announced an allocation of an extra 80 crore rupees for expanding the molding unit in Bangalore through its subsidiary, Uno Minda Kyoraku Ltd, to meet growing demand. This facility is expected to start operations by the first quarter of FY28.

Moreover, the joint venture between Uno Minda and Japanese firm Toyoda Gosei will also establish a new plant in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra, managed by Toyoda Gosei South India Pvt Ltd. This plant will manufacture internal and external automotive parts, airbags, hoses, and body sealing components with estimated capital expenditure of around 670 crore rupees. The new facility is expected to start operations by the fourth quarter of FY29.

Sunil Bohra, CFO of Uno Minda Ltd group, noted: 'The aggregate capital expenditure of 1415 crore rupees represents a disciplined approach to capturing high-growth opportunities while strategically diversifying across product verticals and geographies.'

Uno Minda emphasized that the announced projects cover expansion in lightweight wheels for two-wheelers, aluminum casting, molding, as well as the production of internal, external parts, and sealing systems.

Ravi Mehra, Managing Director of Uno Minda Ltd, stated: 'These projects mark another significant step forward in Uno Minda's long-term growth journey. Each one is based on a clear and consistent principle—investment backed by orders or clear demand visibility, proximity to our customers, and the creation of modern, scalable, efficient, and future-ready manufacturing capabilities.'

Nvidia evaluates investing R$ 53 billion in Anthropic's IPO, which could be one of the biggest in history

Nvidia is in negotiation stages to become one of the main investors in Anthropic's Initial Public Offering (IPO), an event that has the potential to be one of the largest ever recorded. According to information obtained by two individuals familiar with the matter and reported to Reuters, the semiconductor manufacturer is analyzing an investment of up to US$ 10 billion, which is equivalent to approximately R$ 53 billion.

Anthropic plans to raise up to US$ 100 billion (about R$ 530 billion) with this capital opening. This operation could raise the company's total valuation to around US$ 2 trillion (approximately R$ 10.6 trillion). However, the sources, who requested anonymity, indicated that negotiations are still ongoing and plans may change.

Nvidia's possible participation had not yet been made public. If the company enters as a lead investor, it would provide Anthropic with crucial strategic support for an offering of such magnitude, which, in turn, could reinforce investor confidence in the process.

Lead investors are financial entities that commit to acquiring a specific portion of shares before the IPO is made available to the general public. This tactic has become increasingly frequent in large offerings, where corporations seek to raise substantial amounts of capital.

Anthropic did not comment on the negotiations, and Nvidia also did not immediately respond to a request for clarification from Reuters.

More information:

The sources consulted by Reuters suggested that the completion of the capital opening should occur before the mid-term legislative elections in the United States, scheduled for November. If this happens, it will represent another significant advance in the company's valuation.

In May, Anthropic had raised US$ 65 billion (about R$ 344.5 billion) in a previous round, which raised its post-investment valuation to US$ 965 billion (about R$ 5.1 trillion). According to Anthropic itself, the company's annualized revenue exceeded US$ 65 billion (about R$ 344.5 billion) by the end of July, compared to about US$ 9 billion (approximately R$ 47.7 billion) recorded at the close of 2025.

The company's valuation projection also takes into account an estimated revenue between US$ 190 billion and US$ 200 billion (equivalent to R$ 1.0 trillion to R$ 1.06 trillion) for the year 2028.

This potential IPO of Anthropic occurs amid several major launches in the American stock market. Data from Dealogic indicates that, until the end of August, initial public offerings in the United States, excluding Special Purpose Acquisition Companies (SPACs), had already raised a record US$ 137 billion (about R$ 726 billion).
