Construction of new microdistrict Uchtepa City worth $1.5 billion planned in Tashkent

The construction of a new residential complex named Uchtepa City, valued at $1.5 billion, is planned for the Uchtep district of Tashkent.

This initiative was announced by Sharof Rakhmanov, Deputy Mayor of the capital, during an broadcast on the O'zbekiston 24 channel. The initial phase of the project covers a 37-hectare plot where residential quarters, a business center, hotels, shopping and entertainment centers, as well as restaurants are planned to be located. Additionally, the development includes areas for walking and landscaping.

The project also involves modernizing existing engineering infrastructure and laying new utilities. Once the microdistrict is fully built, it is expected to create approximately 20,000 jobs.

According to Rakhmanov, work on the project is scheduled to begin in the near future. The investment company is the Vietnamese ROX Group, which has previously shown interest in expanding its operations in Uzbekistan.

It was previously known that on September 11, Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with Anh Tuan Chan, founder of ROX Group, to discuss both current and new investment projects. Both sides reached an agreement to accelerate the launch of these projects based on a special 'roadmap'.
