Vice President Mashatile reports good recovery progress following minor medical procedure

Vice President Paul Mashatile stated that his recovery is progressing successfully after undergoing a minor medical procedure. He added that he is regaining strength and will continue to rest as advised by doctors.

Mashatile provided this information on Tuesday, noting that he feels a surge of energy daily during his recovery. This report followed the recent procedure, after which he temporarily stepped away from his regular duties to recuperate.

Meanwhile, his acting press secretary, Keith Khoza, reported that Mashatile remained in contact with his office, and his programs and official duties continued to be managed during his recovery.

Mashatile emphasized that his doctors advised him to continue resting until further notice. He stated: 'On the advice of my doctors, I will continue to rest until otherwise instructed, while work and delegated responsibilities continue to be carried out by a capable team in my office along with other stakeholders in government, business, and other sectors.'

Prayers as a Source of Strength

He expressed gratitude to his family, the medical team that cared for him, as well as members of his office and colleagues in government and ANC. Mashatile also thanked President Cyril Ramaphosa and South Africans who sent him messages of support during his recovery. He added: 'Your prayers and encouragement have been a source of strength.'

Despite the ongoing recovery, Mashatile assured that he remains committed to his duties and intends to return to work as soon as possible. He concluded: 'Let us continue to work together for the progress of our country. I assure you that I remain dedicated to the duties entrusted to me and look forward to returning to my duties in full, serving our nation with renewed energy and dedication.'
