Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa highlighted the growing role of investors from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in Syria. He mentioned planned projects involving Emirati businessman Mohammed Alabbar. The President stated that the exact value of these investments has not yet been determined as the plans are still under development.
Speaking at a key dialogue within the Arab Media Forum in Dubai, al-Sharaa cited the investment by DP World in the Port of Tartus. He used this example to demonstrate the UAE's ability to find opportunities for development in Syria. According to him, investing in port and general infrastructure is capable of restoring Syria's place in regional trade and energy supply chains.
Al-Sharaa stated that Syria is transforming from an object perceived as a source of regional instability into an economic and strategic opportunity. He stressed that 'Syria's stability today serves not only Syria itself but the entire region. This is a common interest for everyone.'
