Bajaj has implemented updates on the Dominar 400, its best-selling model in Brazil, elevating its electronic package from intermediate to a more complete level. The vehicle now incorporates functionalities that were exclusive to the NS 400Z, following the brand's strategy to consolidate its motorcycle family.
Among the new features are the ride-by-wire electronic throttle, four riding modes, traction control system, a colorful digital display, and Bluetooth integration. The suggested price for the model was adjusted to R$ 27,490, representing an increase of R$ 500 compared to the previous version. The first units were delivered to dealerships in mid-September, available in five colors: blue, white, black, green, and red.
Changes to the Display and Electronic Features
The most notable change lies in the cockpit. The Dominar 400 has stopped using the previous two-instrument configuration—composed of the main panel and a display positioned over the tank—and has started centralizing all information on a single color LCD screen, providing greater reading clarity.
This new display offers Bluetooth connectivity through the Bajaj Ride Connect application, which allows for turn-by-turn navigation projection (a simpler function than a full GPS), displays call and message alerts, and indicates battery level and cell signal.
The inclusion of the ride-by-wire electronic throttle enabled the addition of four riding modes: Road, Rain, Off Road, and Sport. Each mode modifies the acceleration map and power delivery according to the intended use. The Rain mode attenuates response on low-grip surfaces, the Sport mode makes the throttle more responsive, the Off Road mode was developed for rough terrain, and the Road mode is for daily use.
The electronic package is complemented by traction control, which monitors rear wheel grip and works together with dual-channel ABS to mitigate skidding during acceleration on slippery surfaces. This electronic setup is identical to that used by the NS 400Z, the sport naked motorcycle launched in Brazil in October 2025.
Maintenance of Mechanics and Specifications
Despite the significant electronic updates, the mechanical part of the bike remains unchanged. The Dominar 400 continues to be equipped with a 373.3 cc single-cylinder engine, configured with DOHC four valves, liquid cooling, and electronic injection. This engine generates 40 hp at 8,800 rpm and produces 3.56 kgf.m of torque at 6,500 rpm. The transmission system has six gears, utilizing assisted and slipper clutch.
Suspension characteristics are also maintained: 43 mm inverted front fork and Nitrox rear monoshock. In terms of dimensions, the bike weighs 192 kg ready-to-ride, has a 13-liter fuel tank, and a wheelbase of 1,453 mm.
The Dominar 400 maintains all accessories geared towards road use, including windscreen, handguards, engine and sump guards, split seat, luggage rack with trunk support, passenger footrests, USB port on the tank, alloy wheels, and full-LED lighting with automatic activation.
The incorporation of new electronic components provides better navigation capability with GPS, although without the complete map, greater stability thanks to traction control, and flexibility to pre-configure the riding profile according to the surface or type of driving. To achieve a total completeness level, only cruise control would be missing, which would reinforce its appeal as an accessible option for long trips, alongside a fully functional GPS.
