The authorities of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have expanded the national campaign for seasonal influenza vaccination for 2026–27, adding students and individuals traveling for the Hajj and Umrah pilgrimages to the list of priority groups.
The updated list includes pregnant women, children over six months old, the elderly, medical workers, as well as citizens with chronic diseases.
This was announced on Tuesday as part of the launch of the Influenza and Seasonal Respiratory Illness Information Campaign. UAE medical workers reported that vaccines have already been distributed to all medical facilities.
Furthermore, awareness-raising efforts and vaccinations are being carried out in schools. Emirates Health Services confirmed that flu vaccines are available at all 121 EHS facilities, as authorities intensify preparations for the seasonal increase in respiratory illnesses.
