These reductions are occurring while Oracle is expanding the infrastructure of its data centers to meet the growing demand for artificial intelligence (AI) and cloud services. Simultaneously, the company aims to reduce costs and reorganize its workforce.

In May 2026, Oracle reduced its global workforce by approximately 13 percent, including 21 thousand employees. According to the company's annual report, the staff numbered around 141 thousand, compared to 162 thousand the previous year.
