Dubai develops recreational zones, including 'Work in the Park' concept and a 24-hour women's beach

Dubai's public parks demonstrated the highest level of attendance among the municipality's portfolio of public spaces in the first half of 2026, with visitor numbers increasing by 18 percent compared to the previous year. According to data published on Monday by Dubai authorities, the largest growth was observed in Quranic Park, where visitors increased by 47 percent, as well as in Mushrif National Park, which saw a 20 percent increase.

This growth coincided with the launch of the Arab Tourism Market in Dubai on Monday. Al Mamzar Lagoon Beach, which is the first phase of the renovated Al Mamzar beaches, has welcomed over 1.75 million visitors since its opening in May. Its launch expanded the municipality's portfolio to seven public beaches.

Following the resumption of operations, Al Mamzar Beach was divided into two parts: Al Mamzar Lagoon Beach and Al Mamzar Corniche. The former covers an area of 2.75 million square feet and includes a 300-meter night beach, among other features. Al Mamzar Corniche, covering 1.25 million square feet, is intended for visitors seeking privacy and a premium experience.

Dubai Frame has received approximately 8.8 million visitors since its opening, cementing its place as one of the city's most recognizable landmarks. According to a representative, the attraction is attracting more local tourists and is negotiating with several schools to organize educational trips.

Dubai's parks are transforming beyond traditional leisure spots. In Mushrif National Park, the recently opened cycling track for young rangers has already welcomed over 18,000 visitors, complementing the park's growing offerings for cyclists, hikers, and families.

The municipality is currently developing the 'Work from Park' concept, which will allow people to work in public parks, combining work, recreation, and nature. Al Mamzar Corniche is preparing to open and will become the city's eighth public beach. It will introduce additional leisure and sports opportunities, including the world's first 24-hour beach accessible only to women. This facility will be the first of its kind in the city and will feature several amenities such as night swimming and dedicated female lifeguards.

Bader Anwahi, CEO of the Government Properties Agency at Dubai Municipality, stated that the main goal is to provide people with more reasons to spend time outdoors. He noted: 'Residents and visitors can visit an iconic landmark, spend time on the beach, cycle through the forest, discover a public park, or explore the natural landscape of Hatta—all within one city.' He added: 'Our mission is to continue creating attractive public spaces that give people more reasons to explore Dubai.'
