The consortium, headed by Air Arabia, has received approval from the General Authority of Civil Aviation of Saudi Arabia. This decision paves the way for the launch of a new national budget airline based in Dammam.
The Kingdom's new national carrier will operate from King Fahd International Airport in Dammam. The airline is planned to serve 24 domestic and 57 international destinations.
It is expected that by 2030, the new carrier will transport approximately 10 million passengers annually. Furthermore, it is set to create over 2,400 direct jobs, contribute to GDP growth, and support the development of tourism and air connectivity in the Eastern Province, aligning with the overall goals of the aviation program.
