Diljit Dosanjh became the first Punjabi artist to perform on the main stage of Wembley Stadium in London

Singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh achieved a historic milestone by becoming the first Punjabi artist to headline at the famous Wembley Stadium in London.

On September 12, he held a concert for an audience of over 90,000 people. This event was a grand celebration of Punjabi music and culture under the Wembley arch. Dosanjh is known for starting his performances with his signature shout: «Punjabi aa gaye oye!» (The Punjabis have arrived!).

Attendees arrived in vibrant traditional attire, many of whom participated in the cultural spirit of the evening by using free turban-tying stations at the venue. In his performance, Dosanjh performed hits such as G.O.A.T., Lover, Born To Shine, and Hass Hass, combining the grand scale of Wembley with the warmth that has become the hallmark of his concerts.

He also continued his long-standing tradition of inviting selected fans onto the stage, taking selfies, and giving gifts to the audience. This historic appearance at Wembley marked another major global milestone for the star, who previously performed at Coachella in 2023.

The performance at Wembley holds immense cultural significance, as the appearance of a Punjabi artist performing predominantly in Punjabi was a significant moment for the representation of South Asian culture on the world stage. The evening concluded with fireworks and the song 'Main Hoon Punjab.'

Dosanjh announced further promotion of his global Punjabi project, stating that his Aura World Tour is scheduled for November 21 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
