The launch of an open database is planned, which will allow investors to access geological information with just a few clicks online, starting from the beginning of 2027 in Uzbekistan. This was reported by Feruza Khamidova, the First Deputy Minister of Mining and Geology, at the international scientific conference GEOMIN-2026.
According to Khamidova, the new database will provide investors with the ability to obtain necessary geological data through a few clicks, which will reduce the time and costs spent searching for this information. Khamidova noted: 'I think this database will be launched at the beginning of next year.'
As part of the project implementation, over 30 thousand geological reports have been digitized in the first stage, and the second stage is currently being completed. Additionally, a Technological Transformation Center has been established under the ministry, which is responsible for digitizing the industry, including geology.
Khamidova emphasized that this center will accelerate the development of the geological database and the geoportal. Furthermore, during the GEOMIN-2026 conference, the creation of a nanolab for analyzing geological samples in Uzbekistan was announced.
This nanolab will open at the base of the technological metallurgical plant and will undergo international accreditation. According to Khamidova, the laboratory will be able to analyze up to 300 thousand samples per year, allowing all research to be conducted in the country, eliminating the need to send samples abroad.
