Uzbek State Circus planned to be modernized into a cultural and tourist space

It is planned to fundamentally change the status of the legendary Tashkent circus, transforming it from a regular show arena into a modern center of cultural and tourist attraction. This project includes updating all infrastructure, creating new zones for exhibitions and various events, and increasing the object's appeal to visitors.

Following the June meeting with representatives of the cultural sector, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev issued an instruction to bring this industry to a qualitatively new level. As a result, relevant decrees were adopted concerning the development of art and literature, and a special creative association for circus arts and street performances was established.

Inspection of the Circus's Condition

Davron Vakhabov, Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan, together with members of the Public Council, visited the Uzbek State Circus. During the visit, participants closely examined the current condition of the building, its existing infrastructure, and its potential for future expansion.

Among the proposed measures are the creation of a permanent venue capable of accommodating 2,5 thousand spectators, as well as comprehensive landscaping of the adjacent territory and improvement of the overall environment for tourists. Special attention will be paid to the building itself, including the installation of modern heating and ventilation systems, and addressing the roof leakage problem.

The development of the circus goes beyond simple repairs; implementing the comprehensive plan requires developing a technical and economic justification and attracting international consulting firms from Russia, China, and France. All planned changes and construction work must strictly comply with cultural heritage preservation requirements and be coordinated with the Agency for Cultural Heritage.

In addition to physical modernization, the authorities intend to revise working conditions, the payment system, and material incentives for artists and all personnel to ensure they receive tangible support and motivation to work.
