UBTECH has officially commissioned its Super-Smart Factory featuring industrial humanoid robots in Liuzhou, Guangxi Province. This facility, spanning approximately 14,000 square meters, is designed to achieve an annual production capacity exceeding 10,000 industrial bipedal and wheeled platforms.
The opening ceremony took place on September 12th in the city's Northern Ecological New Zone. This enterprise is positioned not as a pilot workshop but as a high-performance manufacturing base. It utilizes mixed-model lines for the Walker S series, including the industrial Walker S2, as well as wheeled platforms like the Cruzr S2 and Cruzr Y1. The stated production cycle time is approximately one industrial humanoid every 10 minutes, supported by a closed-loop internal logistics system where robots assist in assembling other robots within the campus area.
On the production floor, assembly is conducted without a rigid overhead conveyor; instead, flexible workstations are employed. Components are moved on self-locking rotating carts equipped with RFID serial number tracking. Automated torque stations install over 2,000 fasteners across about 50 specifications, simultaneously logging depth and torque data into the factory's digital core.
Finished products enter a compact, high-level automated storage and retrieval buffer, where they remain for about a hundred units before undergoing hinge, gait, and payload checks for over four hours, followed by multi-angle visual inspection in a tunnel equipped with automotive lighting. The free space height of approximately 13.8 meters allows for dense automated warehousing on a relatively small footprint.
Material handling is also roboticized. Cruzr mobile manipulators with 3D vision handle pallet unloading, container picking, bin replenishment, and inter-station transport, working alongside Autonomous Guided Vehicles (AGVs) and autonomous forklifts. Process control is managed via UBTECH's Yanshee Manufacturing Operations Management platform, integrated with Siemens Intelligence Center X.
Prior to construction, UBTECH and Siemens Digital Industries Software created a 1:1 digital model in Siemens Plant Simulation to verify the feasibility of maintaining the 10-minute cycle time without congestion in bin returns and AGV buffers—a classic digital twin validation stage before commencing capital works. Founder Zhou Jian commented that the factory's connection to the Liuzhou production base will allow industrial humanoids to be tested on real stations and accumulate workplace data, leveraging Guangxi's location for access to Southeast Asian markets. The launch announcement emphasizes the scale of production: automotive-level cycle discipline, robot-assembling-robots logistics, and the Siemens Digital Twin plus MOM technology stack, against a target of over 10,000 units annually, rather than a narrative about fundraising or stock prices. The commercial question of how quickly orders and software reliability can absorb this capacity remains open and cannot be solved solely by the factory's equipment.
