Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian appealed to BRICS participants to intensify trade using national currencies. The goal of such measures is to reduce dependence on current financial and trade systems.
Pezeshkian sharply condemned the West for imposing unilateral sanctions, calling them 'crimes and genocide' against the populations of Iran and Gaza. He emphasized that excessive dependence of developing economies on existing financial and trade systems makes them vulnerable to political upheavals.
