A video that went viral on social media captured a passenger arguing with flight attendants over a flight boarding delay caused by adverse weather conditions. The passenger repeatedly asked why her flight was delayed while other planes had already landed.
This video, posted by the account @annieirl on Instagram, shows a woman speaking sharply to a crew member. She asks: 'No, tell me, can all the other planes land, but this specific plane cannot land? Why is that?'
When the crew member informed her that they did not know the exact reason for the delay, the woman's anger intensified. She loudly demanded: 'Ask! Then tell me. I want to know the reason.' Furthermore, the passenger claimed that between fifteen and twenty planes had landed in the last half hour, and therefore there must be a valid reason to stop her flight.
The video's author expressed sarcasm about the woman's behavior, writing in the caption: 'What happened, bad weather? Let's board! We could die, couldn't we?'. He added that the passenger's manner of conduct challenges aviation, physics, and common sense.
The video spread from Instagram to the platform X (formerly Twitter), where many users criticized the woman's behavior. Many questioned how appropriate it was to put such pressure on flight attendants in such a sensitive situation as bad weather.
However, in the comments on the post, many aviation enthusiasts and pilots shed light on the technical side of the issue. They explained that just because one plane landed does not mean the conditions were equally safe for all planes at that moment. Numerous factors, such as visibility, wind speed, runway condition, and sudden changes in weather, determine when and how safely a specific aircraft can land.
