Japan won the title of the 2026 AVC Men's Volleyball Continental Championship by achieving a convincing victory over Iran with a score of 3–0 (25–21, 26–24, 25–23) in the final match held on Sunday.
The game, played at Japan's home arena, was marked by the Japanese team's composed play in the decisive moments of each set, which allowed them to secure the continental crown and ensure their participation in the 2028 Olympic Games.
Yuji Nishida led Japan in points scored, accumulating 18 points, which matched the score of Ali Hajipour from Iran, who also earned 18 points.
Before the final, Iran demonstrated an impressive winning streak, defeating China, India, New Zealand, Taipei, and Australia.
Despite the disappointment of losing the final, Iran's strong tournament campaign provided the team with valuable experience as they continue preparations for future international competitions. Meanwhile, Japan marked another major achievement before its fans.
