Former performance analyst for the Bafana Bafana national team, Sinesifo Mali, stated that he is still awaiting a bonus for participating in the 2026 FIFA World Cup and also reported that he was not issued either the home or away kit of the national team.

Mali was part of the Bafana technical staff, which made history by qualifying for the World Cup playoffs for the first time. He spent four years with the national team before leaving his position in July, shortly after the tournament concluded, after which he joined AmaZulu as Sports Director.

These revelations surfaced on Sunday morning after Mali reacted to a verified post on X, which claimed that 40 members of the SAFA NEC received 150,000 rand each as a fee this month. Meanwhile, Bafana players, according to reports, have yet to receive their bonuses for South Africa's historic campaign.
Sinesifo Mali emphasized that the bonus is his contractual obligation, stating: 'I do not have a Bafana Bafana kit (neither home nor away)' and 'I have not received my bonus (contractual obligation).' He also noted the lack of any explanation regarding the delay, pointing out that those affected are forced to rely solely on public statements for information.
Mali's comments came after a packed World Cup for the former 'Chiefs' specialist, who faced criticism from fans after Bafana lost 2-0 to Mexico, which was co-hosting the match. However, South Africa managed to recover, winning 1-0 against South Korea in the next match, securing their place in the playoffs and marking a historic moment for the national team.
Furthermore, Mali revealed that during his participation in the World Cup, he did not receive any official Bafana playing kits.
