An official representative of the Vice Presidency for Science, Technology, and Economy stated that establishing connections between small knowledge-based companies and large industries is a key strategy for reforming the technological structure, expanding markets, and achieving sustainable growth.
Vahid Zargami, Secretary of the Headquarters of the Vice Presidency for Advanced Materials and Manufacturing Technology Development, emphasized the need to create a cycle of cooperation between small knowledge-based companies and leading industrial enterprises in the country. He noted that such links can strengthen the potential of technology firms, facilitate their entry into the supply chains of large industries, and help them solidify their market positions.
According to IRNA, Zargami also discussed support mechanisms available through the Vice Presidency for Science, Technology, and Economy, including tax incentives that can promote the growth of small knowledge-based companies while meeting the technological needs of large industries. He added that integrating small enterprises into the supply chains of large industries will accelerate their development and increase their market share, helping to form a sustainable cycle linking technological capabilities, industrial demand, and the market.
A national document on the development of advanced materials science and technology was presented in January. This document, which was approved by the Supreme Council of Cultural Revolution in the last month of the Iranian year 1403 (March 2024 – March 2025), was signed and announced by President Masoud Pezeshkian on December 25, 2025, according to IRNA.
The national document serves as a comprehensive roadmap for advancing advanced materials in the country. Its goal is to improve Iran's standing in the global arena of science and technology and contribute to achieving sustainable development goals. Among the main objectives of the document are raising the country's ranking in science and technology, especially in the field of advanced materials and modern material processing methods, increasing the export of knowledge-based products, reducing environmental impact, and improving the quality of life.
Ali-Bager Taherinia, an official of the Supreme Council of Cultural Revolution, quoted by IRNA, noted that this is the first comprehensive scientific document in the field of advanced materials, laying the foundation for the development of other documents such as quantum computing and artificial intelligence (AI).
Highlighting the growing importance of advanced materials science and technology in economic, medical, food, and other sectors, the official expressed hope that the implementation of the document will benefit the country, as it plays a critical role in the gross domestic product (GDP) and sustainable development. Taherinia also specified that the Vice Presidency for Science, Research, and Technology will ensure the document comes into force. Proper management is crucial for gaining a significant share in the advanced materials market, given the country's progress in publishing scientific articles on this topic.
