Deepinder Goyal, the company founder, is joining forces with Art of Living for his new wellness venture named Temple. This joint enterprise aims to study the impact of various meditation techniques using Entropy—a new biomarker utilized in Temple.
In a post on X, Deepinder Goyal noted that Entropy is a new biomarker in Temple that also measures the body's parasympathetic state. He added that during meditation, this indicator showed a real-time decrease while maintaining a stable heart rate. Goyal expressed interest in which specific meditation method would elicit the deepest parasympathetic response.
Temple, established in 2024, features wearable technology designed to track physiological and medical signals. Goyal reported visiting Art of Living to measure the effect of meditation on the Entropy metric and specified that the research results from Art of Living will be published soon.
Last month, Temple announced the acquisition of Longevous, a longevity medicine startup headquartered in London. This acquisition helps Temple build its scientific and clinical capabilities ahead of launch.
As part of the deal, Longevous founders, Robert Mohr and Avi Roy, along with their team, will join Temple. Robert Mohr has been appointed as Temple's Chief Medical Officer. He is a board-certified physician with nearly two decades of clinical experience, previously working in emergency medicine before transitioning to evidence-based longevity medicine.
Avi Roy has taken the role of Head of Science. He is a biomedical scientist educated at Oxford and has worked at the intersection of longevity science and business. Previously, he was a researcher at the University of Oxford's Centre for Advancing Sustainable Medical Innovations, and a co-founder of Founders Health and UDA.
According to Goyal, Mohr and Roy tested Temple over two months, collaborating with the scientific team to validate the Entropy technology and the data it collects. They also participated in the validation process for Temple and reviewed initial scientific manuscripts prior to submission.
