Actor Wiseman Mncube, who organized a prayer gathering on Heritage Day called Umthandazo WaseMpophomeni, established several strict requirements for all participants.
The well-known actor from the series The Wife and Shaka iLembe, Wiseman Mncube, issued a serious warning to those planning to attend Umkhuleko WaseMpophomeni (Prayer at the Waterfall), which will take place in Delta Park in Randburg on Heritage Day.
Mncube stated that the gathering of worshippers, scheduled for September 24th, was organized in response to numerous requests from people who urged him to hold this event.
However, he specified that those wishing to participate must first undergo a six-day fast before Heritage Day, which includes abstinence from sex and alcohol. Mncube explained: 'Fasting means abstaining from sex and alcohol. If you are menstruating, you are not allowed to participate. We pray at 6 am, noon, 6 pm, and midnight, using three white candles and a glass of water.'
The actor also asked participants to bring 1 liter of milk, three candles, and coins valued at R1 to the prayer meeting. He added that he would regularly inform his followers through social media.
Furthermore, Mncube urged people to pray continuously on these days and asked them to pray for him. He also explained his view on why prayer might be more effective than traditional medicine.
He strongly recommended that people planning major purchases, such as a car or a house, dedicate time to prayer before making the deal. Mncube advised: 'You know what you are going to buy—a car or a house or something that will make you very happy and attract attention. Before doing so, pray for strength. Set aside a month of focused prayer before the purchase. Forget about traditional medicine; pray for protection and give yourself time to pray to God and your ancestors so they can protect you from people's envy.'
Mncube also expressed the opinion that relying on traditional medicine can sometimes lead to negative consequences. He noted: 'You use traditional medicine to stay strong; someone comes using traditional medicine, attacks you, and then everything gets confused. This medicine has bad energy.'
