At the celebration of Netflix's 10th anniversary, television and radio program producers Anele Mngudlwa and her husband Buzza Mngudlwa shared details about the decision to release the story of their wedding. The couple decided to keep the memories of the marriage a secret for an entire year, despite having over ten thousand photos from the ceremony.
Viewers will soon see behind the scenes of their wedding journey in the new docu-soap series 'Stars and Vows: Anele & Buzza'. Buzza explained in an interview with IOL that the wait made the memories more meaningful for the couple. Instead of seeing wedding footage hours or days after the event, they are now celebrating the anniversary of those moments. Furthermore, the guest list was strictly limited to 300 people, and confidentiality was maintained until the project's release.
When asked how they managed to keep the secret, Anele replied, 'Oh, people listen to me,' and Buzza suggested, 'I think people are afraid.' Their traditional ceremony took place at the end of April 2025, followed by a private white wedding in November 2025.
Wedding planning, which can put pressure on a relationship, ultimately strengthened the couple's friendship, according to Anele. They were already good friends, but working together on the plans brought them even closer. Anele joked that she would add items to the plan, and Buzza would delete them, leaving her the task of convincing him of the process's rationality. Instead of constant disagreements, they approached the process as a team.
Another highly anticipated Netflix project is 'Love Is Blind South Africa', hosted by Daneo and Solo Langa. The couple filmed the show last year and has since had to remain silent while viewers speculated about their participation. This secret was compounded by a non-disclosure agreement. Daneo reported that the show's announcement date changed four times, requiring the couple to maintain silence amidst ongoing online speculation.
When asked if 'Love Is Blind South Africa' is truly about finding love, Daneo and Solo gave a clear answer: yes. The couple emphasized that the main goal of the experiment is finding love, as they met through a blind date themselves, and participating in a show focused on this theme seemed like a natural choice. They also noted that the filming process was incredible.
Netflix will also present 'How to Ruin Diwali' to viewers, starring actors including Rosemary Zimu and Kyle Clark. For Clark, this role marked his first leading role. Speaking at a Netflix celebration, he expressed gratitude for the opportunity and described the production as an 'incredible blend of cultures.' He also highlighted the importance of representing Indian stories on screen and called the plot wonderful to tell.
