Speaking at the BRICS session dedicated to sustainability, innovation, cooperation, and environmentalism, Prime Minister Modi noted that during his chairmanship, India focused the group specifically on these four pillars, striving to transform them into areas of practical interaction.
Modi emphasized that the militarization of critical minerals and technologies can slow down overall progress, leading them to stress inclusivity in technology adoption. He also commented on the rise in global tensions, which has a 'significant and widespread negative impact' on the lives of ordinary people.
He added that pandemics, climate disasters, and supply chain disruptions have demonstrated that in an interconnected world, crises can no longer be confined to a single territory.
