Renault has introduced the new lifestyle pickup Niagara, which is intended to be a serious competitor to the Mahindra Scorpio Lifestyler, previously presented by Mahindra and highly praised by the public.
This pickup, based on the Renault Duster platform, will soon enter markets, including Brazil. The launch in Brazil is scheduled for November 2026, where it will be available in two versions: 4x2 and 4x4. Additionally, a hybrid version of this truck is expected in 2027.
The Renault Niagara utilizes a modular platform similar to that used in the Duster. The truck's design largely resembles the Renault Borealis SUV, especially in the front section. The Niagara is equipped with a black-coated grille, a multi-layered bumper, underbody protection, and lighting accents.
The pickup features a double cab configuration and includes extensive cladding, body-colored door handles, roof rails, and a 4x4 badge. The word RENAULT will be displayed on the front, and the NIAGARA branding will be on the tailgate. Wheel diameters of 17 and 18 inches are available.
The dimensions of the Niagara are 4940 mm in length, 1830 mm in width, and 1720 mm in height, with a wheelbase reaching 2960 mm. The cargo bed has a capacity of 938 liters, a payload of 654 kilograms, and a towing capacity of 710 kilograms.
The Niagara's powertrain consists of a 1.3-liter four-cylinder turbocharged gasoline engine. It produces 156 hp on gasoline and 160 hp on ethanol, with a torque reaching 270 Nm. Transmission options include a six-speed manual gearbox and a six-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox.
The truck's cabin is similar to the Borealis cabin and is equipped with a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster and a 10.1-inch multimedia system supporting Google Built-in. The system integrates Google Gemini, enabling natural voice interaction. A USB Type-C port, rear headrests, and 36 liters of foldable space are also provided.
Additional features include a Harman Kardon audio system and a sunroof. Furthermore, the truck is equipped with safety and driver assistance systems such as adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot warning, and others.
