The Ministry of Agriculture of Uzbekistan reported that Uzbekistan and South Korea are discussing new investment projects and the implementation of advanced technologies in the agricultural sector.
During the working trip, the ministry's delegation held meetings with President Firmmit Singh Paik and President of GW International Kim Saiyong.
In talks with Firmmit, the parties discussed plans for growing strawberries in Uzbekistan both to meet domestic demand and for export. Furthermore, they considered the possibility of establishing agricultural cooperatives based on South Korean experience, as well as introducing modern agrarian technologies and improving the qualifications of local agronomists.
With representatives from GW International, the parties discussed prospects for developing vegetable seed production, implementing modern technologies, and establishing a research center at the Vegetable Science Research Institute. This center aims to facilitate the transfer of advanced technologies, train local specialists, and produce certified seeds. The next stage is planned to be the creation of a system for exporting these seeds.
Overall, the discussions focused on transferring South Korea's advanced agricultural experience to Uzbekistan, strengthening the potential of farmers and specialists, and developing innovative and competitive agricultural production systems.
