Uzbekistan Telecommunications Center and Azerbaijan's IDDA Discuss Digital Cooperation

The Minister of Transport of Uzbekistan, Ilhom Makhmudov, met with Nicolas Rallo, Regional Director of the European and North Atlantic Office of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), in Tashkent on September 9.

According to the Ministry of Transport of Uzbekistan, the meeting took place within the framework of the CANSO Eurasia ANSP Summit.

The parties discussed the current level of cooperation between Uzbekistan and ICAO in the field of civil aviation development, as well as reviewed the results of current projects and prospects for new joint initiatives.

Particular attention was paid to supporting initiatives aimed at improving and developing the global aviation system. The discussions focused, in particular, on the development of aviation infrastructure, enhancing flight safety, and further advancing the sector in accordance with international standards.

At the end of the meeting, both sides confirmed their mutual interest in expanding cooperation in the field of aviation and consistently implementing practical projects.

The Telecommunications Management Center of Uzbekistan held negotiations in Turkey with representatives of state agencies and technology companies to discuss the development of cooperation in the field of telecommunications and monitoring, as reported by the structure itself.

On September 7, the Center's delegation met with Beytullah Koşçu, Vice President of the Turkish Information and Communication Technologies Authority (BTK). The parties exchanged experience and data regarding mobile device security.

The main focus of the negotiations was on methods for detecting and blocking cloned devices, as well as practical ways to combat fraud in telecommunication networks. Furthermore, the management and control of the radio frequency spectrum were discussed. The agenda included the implementation of anti-fraud systems, the possibility of Mobile Number Portability (MNP), resource number management, and Caller ID (CLI).

On September 8, the delegation of the Telecommunications Management Center also met with the management of the Turkish technology company TechNarts, headed by Taha Yaydji. They discussed opportunities for joint work on monitoring mobile operator and television broadcasting networks, as well as the application of modern technological solutions.

Participants also spoke about exchanging technical expertise, practical experience, and information. The parties separately considered the prospects for joint projects based on the technological needs and priority areas of the Telecommunications Management Center. These meetings laid the foundation for further experience exchange and the implementation of joint initiatives with Turkish state and technological partners.

In Tashkent, Uzbekistan and the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) held a meeting on September 3rd to discuss the current state and prospects for further bilateral interaction.

The meeting took place between Munira Aminova, advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, and Kim Myung Jin, the new director of the KOICA office in Uzbekistan.

During the negotiations, KOICA's significant involvement in implementing social and infrastructure projects in Uzbekistan was noted. The parties paid particular attention to cooperation opportunities in the fields of artificial intelligence and digitalization.

The prospects for implementing AI technologies in the healthcare, agriculture, and education sectors were discussed. Furthermore, the agenda included issues of climate change and water resource management.

Participants expressed mutual interest in further expanding the partnership and developing new joint initiatives, taking into account Uzbekistan's national development priorities and the experience of the Republic of Korea.

The importance of close coordination and regular exchange of views in determining promising directions and projects for future cooperation was also emphasized.
