Despite long-standing disagreements between SAFA and PSL, the top leadership of both organizations showed support in Midrand when Danny Jordaan secured his fourth term.
The Professional Soccer League (PSL) maintained its status as a Special Member of SAFA, participating in the re-election of Danny Jordaan as the association's president for the fourth consecutive term. Jordaan achieved a convincing victory, securing 157 votes against 82 votes for candidate Sandile Zungu. PSL exercised its voting right alongside regional bodies and member associations.
For many years, it was widely reported that PSL and SAFA were at odds, despite their membership within the constitutions of SAFA and CAF; the professional league often ignored the association's events.

Nevertheless, PSL leaders—Chairman Irvine Khosa and Executive Committee member Kaiser Motaung—attended the four-year election congress at Vodacom World in Midrand on Saturday afternoon. The SAFA election congress takes place in Midrand.
Before the official proceedings began, the pair exchanged pleasantries with candidate Zungu, who is a member of the Board of Governors (BoG) as president of the top division team AmaZulu. During the session, Khosa and Motaung shared the podium with Jordaan and SAFA CEO Lindiwe Monyepao, thereby signaling their support for the continuation of Jordaan's presidency in SAFA.
As PSL Chairman, Khosa automatically holds a position as a SAFA vice-president. After the re-election, Jordaan took the stage to outline the league's operational position for the upcoming four-year period.
In light of this public demonstration of unity, South African football fans hope that both structures will work together to resolve pressing administrative issues, including the implementation of Video Assistant Referee (VAR) technology, which remains a key topic following Minister of Sport Gaiton Mackenzie's commitments regarding state funding for its launch.
