Heavy rains fell in several areas of Delhi on Saturday, leading to changes in weather conditions. According to the meteorological service forecast, rain in the capital may continue until September 16.
Delhi residents should be prepared for further weather changes and periods of rain. Currently, the air quality in the capital is favorable. According to data from the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), the Air Quality Index (AQI) was 63 at 9 am on Saturday, which falls into the satisfactory category according to the CPCB scale, where values from 51 to 100 are considered satisfactory.
On Saturday, the minimum temperature in the capital reached 26.8 degrees Celsius, which is 1.2 degrees above normal. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the sky over Delhi will be predominantly cloudy on this day, with a probability of moderate precipitation. The daytime maximum temperature is forecasted to reach about 31 degrees Celsius.
Small and moderate rains were also observed in some parts of Delhi on Friday. The rains continue on Saturday. By 8:30 am on Saturday, the highest amount of precipitation was recorded in Ridge—10.6 millimeters. Rainfall was also noted in Ay Nagar (10.3 mm), Palme (4.7 mm), Lodhi Road (2.4 mm), and Safdarjung (1.8 mm).
The meteorological service has issued a warning about rainy weather for the capital in the coming hours.
