Red alert declared in UAE due to fog; temperatures expected to reach 42°C in Abu Dhabi and Dubai

Residents of the United Arab Emirates can expect clear or partly cloudy weather on Wednesday, September 9th. According to data from the National Center of Meteorology (NCM), clouds will appear in the east and south of the country after noon.

The meteorological department noted that it will be warm across the country, with temperatures rising up to 46°C in some places. The maximum temperature in Dubai is expected to reach up to 41°C, while in Abu Dhabi it will reach 43°C. Nighttime lows in Dubai will drop to 33°C, and in Abu Dhabi—to 32°C.

Light to moderate southeast or northeast winds are expected across the country, which may occasionally intensify. Wind speeds will be 10–25 km/h but may increase to 35 km/h. The sea in the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea will be calm.

In the United Arab Emirates, clear or partly cloudy weather is forecast for Sunday, September 6, with the possibility of convective clouds forming over the eastern regions in the afternoon.

According to data from the National Center of Meteorology (NCM), this creates a chance of rain. Overnight and on Monday morning, humid weather is expected over some coastal areas with a gradual increase in temperature.

On Sunday, daytime temperatures in Abu Dhabi and Sharjah will reach 43°C, while Dubai is expected to have a maximum of 42°C. Minimum values in Abu Dhabi and Dubai will be 32°C, and in Sharjah—30°C.

The wind will be light to moderate, blowing from southeast to northeast and occasionally strengthening. Wind speeds are expected to fluctuate between 10 and 25 km/h, reaching peaks of up to 40 km/h.

The sea in the Arabian Gulf will be slightly to moderately rough, and in the Gulf of Oman—lightly.

The highest temperature recorded in the country on Saturday was 45.3°C in Al Wtaid (Ad-Dhafra region) at 15:15 UAE local time.

On Thursday, a temperature increase is forecast: it will reach 44°C in Sharjah, 43°C in Dubai, and 42°C in Abu Dhabi. Minimum temperatures in Sharjah and Abu Dhabi will be 31°C, while Dubai is expected to see 34°C.
