Lavas in Maharashtra named 'Italy of India' due to Portofino-style architecture

India has many picturesque mountain resorts, but if you are looking for a place where you can feel the atmosphere of foreign vacation among the mountains, Maharashtra offers Lavas. Thanks to colorful buildings, beautiful views of the lake, and European-style planning, Lavas differs from other mountain resorts. Of particular significance is that Lavas was designed based on the famous Italian city of Portofino, which led to it being given the title 'Italy of India.'

The inspiration for the design of Lavas was taken from the Italian coastal city of Portofino. This feature distinguishes Lavas from other Indian mountain resorts. Portofino is known for its colorful buildings, narrow streets, cafes, and picturesque hills. When developing Lavas, efforts were made to recreate a similar atmosphere amidst the hills of Maharashtra, allowing visitors to experience something different from ordinary Indian mountain resorts when looking at the buildings and streets.

Colorful Buildings by the Lake

One of the most outstanding attractions of Lavas is the promenade located along Lake Dasve. Here, the winding road by the lake and the surrounding colorful buildings combine beautifully. Shades such as terracotta, peach, mustard, olive-green, and brick-red were used in construction, inspired by the buildings of Mediterranean cities in Italy. You can also see arches, small balconies, tiled roofs, and light walls here.

The layout of Lavas facilitates enjoying walks along the lake. Thanks to wide paths, cafes, and water recreation areas, a walk here resembles a vacation in a European resort town. The Dasve area is considered the closest to the Portofino style, as the height, color, and design of the buildings in this part were prepared according to a specific scheme.

Not Just Beauty, But Atmosphere

The reason Lavas is called the 'Italy of India' lies not only in its architecture. The lakeside cafes, hotels, seating areas, and beautiful roads together create a special resort atmosphere here. The view of the lake surrounded by hills and colorful buildings sets Lavas apart from other mountain resorts. Although Lavas is not by the sea, Lake Dasve has become the central point of the entire area, reminiscent of the coast of Portofino.

If you want to have a different travel experience while in India, Lavas can be an excellent choice. The combination of the lake, mountains, colorful buildings, and European-style planning makes it unique, leading to the nickname 'Italy of India.'
