Nvidia evaluates investing R$ 53 billion in Anthropic's IPO, which could be one of the biggest in history

Nvidia is in negotiation stages to become one of the main investors in Anthropic's Initial Public Offering (IPO), an event that has the potential to be one of the largest ever recorded. According to information obtained by two individuals familiar with the matter and reported to Reuters, the semiconductor manufacturer is analyzing an investment of up to US$ 10 billion, which is equivalent to approximately R$ 53 billion.

Anthropic plans to raise up to US$ 100 billion (about R$ 530 billion) with this capital opening. This operation could raise the company's total valuation to around US$ 2 trillion (approximately R$ 10.6 trillion). However, the sources, who requested anonymity, indicated that negotiations are still ongoing and plans may change.

Nvidia's possible participation had not yet been made public. If the company enters as a lead investor, it would provide Anthropic with crucial strategic support for an offering of such magnitude, which, in turn, could reinforce investor confidence in the process.

Lead investors are financial entities that commit to acquiring a specific portion of shares before the IPO is made available to the general public. This tactic has become increasingly frequent in large offerings, where corporations seek to raise substantial amounts of capital.

Anthropic did not comment on the negotiations, and Nvidia also did not immediately respond to a request for clarification from Reuters.

The sources consulted by Reuters suggested that the completion of the capital opening should occur before the mid-term legislative elections in the United States, scheduled for November. If this happens, it will represent another significant advance in the company's valuation.

In May, Anthropic had raised US$ 65 billion (about R$ 344.5 billion) in a previous round, which raised its post-investment valuation to US$ 965 billion (about R$ 5.1 trillion). According to Anthropic itself, the company's annualized revenue exceeded US$ 65 billion (about R$ 344.5 billion) by the end of July, compared to about US$ 9 billion (approximately R$ 47.7 billion) recorded at the close of 2025.

The company's valuation projection also takes into account an estimated revenue between US$ 190 billion and US$ 200 billion (equivalent to R$ 1.0 trillion to R$ 1.06 trillion) for the year 2028.

This potential IPO of Anthropic occurs amid several major launches in the American stock market. Data from Dealogic indicates that, until the end of August, initial public offerings in the United States, excluding Special Purpose Acquisition Companies (SPACs), had already raised a record US$ 137 billion (about R$ 726 billion).
