Nissan has filed the designs of the N7, a large electric sedan sold in China, with the National Institute of Industrial Property (Inpi). This vehicle has already been spotted in street tests in Brazil, featuring discreet camouflage. The registration with Inpi represents the formal procedure that usually precedes the commercial introduction of an imported model.
This car, produced through the Dongfeng-Nissan joint venture, has considerable dimensions: 4.93 meters in length, 1.89 meters in width, 1.49 meters in height, and 2.91 meters between axles. These measurements make it larger than the Tesla Model 3 and its smaller sibling, the N6. In the Brazilian market, it would compete directly with the BYD Seal.
The five versions available in China use front-wheel drive. The entry-level version is equipped with a 58 kWh LFP battery and a 218 hp engine, offering an autonomy between 510 km and 540 km in the CLTC cycle. The more powerful versions feature a 73 kWh battery and a 272 hp engine, achieving up to 635 km of range and accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.9 seconds. The total weight of the vehicle reaches 1,863 kg.
One of the differentiators of the N7 is its advanced electronic package. The multimedia center features a 15.6-inch screen and operates with Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 processors in basic configurations and 8295 in the top version. The Level 2+ driver assistance system is provided by Momenta, including features such as autonomous highway navigation and automatic parking. The vehicle also has a built-in refrigerator.
In China, the price of the N7 ranges between 119,900 and 149,900 yuan. Converting these values at the current exchange rate, this would correspond to something between R$ 91 thousand and R$ 114 thousand; however, this calculation does not include import taxes, IPI, ICMS, shipping costs, and profit margin.
According to projections made by AutoPapo, the entry-level Nissan N7 could cost around R$ 220 thousand, while the top-of-the-line version would be estimated at approximately R$ 276 thousand. Nissan has not yet officially disclosed the final price or the exact launch date for the model.
