An extratropical cyclone will cause climatic instability in several locations this Saturday. Friday night (the 11th) will already show instability in parts of the South, Southeast, and Midwest regions. On Saturday (the 12th), the cyclone, according to Inmet's forecast, will reach its maximum intensity over the Atlantic Ocean, keeping the weather unstable in portions of these areas.
Projections indicate rain and thunderstorms in Paraná, São Paulo, Minas Gerais, Rio de Janeiro, and Mato Grosso do Sul. While temperatures will be mild in the South, the interior of the Northeast will remain intensely hot with few clouds.
The cyclonic system is expected to move rapidly towards the sea during Saturday. Despite this movement, the weather will remain unstable in certain areas of the South Region.
Detailed forecasts by region
In Paraná, isolated showers and thunderstorms are expected in the northwest, north, and northeast. There is also a possibility of rain in the west, center, and east of the state. The yellow alert for potential danger from storms remains valid in the north-central and eastern parts of Paraná.
In the southeast of Rio Grande do Sul, there is a chance of rain, and in the other zones of the region, many clouds will prevail. Curitiba is expected to register a minimum of 11°C and a maximum of 20°C.
In São Paulo, Saturday will bring scattered showers with isolated thunderstorms in the south-central and southwest. Other parts of the state may have scattered rain throughout the day. The predicted minimum for São Paulo is 16°C.
In the south-central part of Minas Gerais and in Rio de Janeiro, the forecast also points to showers. Espírito Santo may record isolated rains, while the north and northwest of Minas Gerais will have partly cloudy skies.
The yellow alert for potential danger from storms remains active in São Paulo, south-central Minas Gerais, and much of Rio de Janeiro. In Belo Horizonte, the maximum temperature may reach 34°C.
Rain will also affect areas in the Midwest. In Mato Grosso, downpours are forecast in the northwest, west, and southwest. Mato Grosso do Sul will face instability mainly in the northwest and south-central, with potential for thunderstorms. Campo Grande is listed among the areas with forecasts of isolated rain and thunderstorms. There is also a possibility of rain in the northeast of Mato Grosso do Sul, in addition to the regions of Cuiabá and Alta Floresta.
In the Federal District, north-central Goiás, and the east and northeast of Mato Grosso, Saturday will be characterized by sunny weather and few clouds. On the coast of the Northeast, many clouds will prevail with possible isolated showers, and inland, the day will be partly cloudy and intensely hot.
In the North Region, instability points are mainly concentrated in Rondônia, Acre, and Amazonas. For Saturday, attention should be directed to the South and Southeast regions due to the forecast of showers and thunderstorms, keeping meteorological warnings active.
