A horrific incident occurred in the Hardoi area when a wild animal attacked a seventy-year-old woman who was sleeping on a cot near her house. The animal tore the woman so severely that her neck was completely devoid of flesh, and her jaw was also missing.
The woman's son discovered her bloody body in the morning, which shocked him. Local residents suspect it could have been a large and aggressive predator, such as a leopard. However, a ranger suggests the possibility that it might be a wolf, jackal, or hyena.
This incident took place in the village of Bikhpur Aima, in the jurisdiction of the Atarawali police station. An unknown wild animal attacked the elderly woman while she was asleep, leading to her death. After receiving information, a forest department team arrived at the scene.
Serious injuries were found on the woman's neck and face, and the disappearance of one of her jaws was noted. Animal tracks were found around the scene.
Based on these tracks, the forest department hypothesized the presence of a wild beast, which they believe to be a wolf, jackal, or hyena. Forest inspectors Vinay Singh Jadhav and personnel of the Kachhua rank are conducting patrols and surveillance using drones at the site. Residents have been warned to exercise caution, and the information has been passed to higher officials for necessary action.
Local residents claim that leopards and cheetahs had previously been seen in the coastal areas of the Gomti River, and that they had previously hunted livestock and animals.
