Life experience constantly communicates with a person through various languages that require decoding. These languages can take the form of genetic code, aromatic signals, random inaccuracies in speech, or established historical myths that remain relevant after a long time.
This review presents five publications dedicated to studying these hidden systems of signs. They reveal how cells are capable of preserving traces of the past, how memories can be restored through scents, how lies manifest in speech patterns, how the brain unconsciously modifies and distorts perceived reality, and how empires rewrite history under the pretext of trade or development.
