Revitalization of number 52 on Market Street focusing on density and wood usage

The revitalization of the property located at number 52 on Market Street constitutes another phase in the development of this street, aiming to promote greater density in the rear area of the lot. Specifically, building 52a, positioned on the second line of implantation, serves to fill a vacant space on this front.

As the last building in this row, the new structure establishes a connection between the internal courtyard and number 52 on Market Street itself. This courtyard will be exclusively for pedestrians and will also function as access to community gardens. The decision to use a wooden facade was motivated by the simple construction method suitable for the depth of the lot.

From an urban planning perspective, the bordeaux-red toned facade harmonizes the building with other residences and city constructions that feature this same color. Although there are limitations in physical access and logistical challenges, the wooden construction allowed the work to proceed without incidents.

The slabs constructed from solid wood were left exposed, which contributes to a high-quality and welcoming interior. The new building evokes historical structures dyed in oxblood color and has an interior definition marked by its wooden structure.
