Questions arise about Vamika Gabbi's reward after the success of DC: she was not given a luxury BMW car

Following the release of the film 'DC' in theaters in August, which received positive reviews, questions have arisen regarding the recognition of actress Vamika Gabbi. The film, in which director Lokesh Kanagaraj debuted as an actor, grossed 100 crore rupees worldwide.

As a token of appreciation, representatives of Sun Pictures, including Kalanishthi Marana, presented cars to the team. However, Vamika Gabbi's fans expressed dissatisfaction that she was not included in the list of gift recipients.

On Thursday evening, a video was published on Sun Pictures' official social media network, showing Kalanishthi, Arun, Lokesh, and composer Anirudh Ravichander receiving new BMW cars. Vamika Gabbi was absent from the footage. The caption for the video stated: 'Mr. Kalanishthi Maran congratulated Arun Mathewshwaran, Lokesh Kanagaraj, and Anirudh on the success of the blockbuster #DC and presented them with keys to new BMW cars!'

Vamika's fans were upset because her performance in the film 'DC' received high praise, and her contribution to the film's success was significant. One fan shared the video on X, writing: 'At least they could have given Vamika a scooter.'

Another fan noted that Sanjana Krishnamurthy also did not receive any gift, asking: 'Then Sanjana will get a bicycle... Everyone should be treated equally.'

A user on X questioned the practice of giving out cars in South India after film successes, noting the disappointment that Vamika, who was called the 'soul of the film,' was left without a car. Many users raised the issue of why the female lead roles in 'DC' were ignored while the male actors were praised.

The discussion also took place on Reddit, where one user called her the best part of the film, and another expressed the opinion: 'Did you forget? This is Kollywood; we do not respect women here.'

In the film 'DC', Lokesh played the role of a criminal named Das, based on the character Devadas. Vamika played the role of an exploited sex worker named Chandra, and Sanjana played the role of a singer named Parvati. According to the trade website Sacnilk, the film 'DC' earned 103.06 crore rupees worldwide.
