The first sample of an automated multi-level parking facility has been installed in the Almazar district of Tashkent. This structure allows vehicles to be placed on several tiers, thereby increasing the total number of parking spaces in a limited area.
The Center for Road Traffic Organization (CRTO) reported that this parking lot is operating in the 'Kichikrik' mahalla as part of a pilot project. CRTO specialists are currently assessing the convenience and efficiency of this format in the capital's conditions.
The principle of operation of the structure is based on the vertical arrangement of cars, which allows for a larger volume of transport to be accommodated on a relatively small area. After the tests are completed, experts will determine the feasibility of implementing such parking lots in Tashkent.
If positive results are obtained, such systems may be introduced in other areas of the city, depending on the current urban planning situation and available infrastructure. This new approach is being considered as a potential solution to the problem of parking space shortage in the metropolis.
It is planned that this project will be presented to President Shavkat Mirziyoyev during his visit to the Almazar district today. It is worth noting that a pilot project to form a unified parking management system also began in Tashkent in the spring, which is designed to unite all parking lots near service facilities and shopping centers into a single network.
