Service sector accounts for 67.9% of Tashkent's economy, according to data from the National Statistical Committee of Uzbekistan

According to the National Statistical Committee of Uzbekistan, Tashkent's gross regional product (GRP) reached 226 trillion soums for the period from January to June 2026. This figure showed a growth of 13.3% compared to the same period in 2025.

During the first six months of the year, the capital contributed 21.1% to Uzbekistan's gross domestic product, which was the highest indicator among all regions of the country.

Economic Structure

The service sector is the foundation of Tashkent's economy. In the period from January to June, it accounted for 67.9% of the capital's GRP structure, which is also the highest share among the regions of Uzbekistan.

Furthermore, industry contributed 20.1% to the city's GRP, and construction added another 12%. Thus, services make up more than two-thirds of Tashkent's gross regional product, while industry accounts for about one-fifth, and construction for 12%.
