The Punjab government has developed an urgent plan to issue approximately 3.3 million cards of the Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojana program to eligible recipients across the state. Special distribution points will be organized in 2008 villages and districts for this purpose.
Minister of Health and Family Welfare Balbir Singh stated that about 31 million cards have already arrived in the districts, and another two million cards are expected soon. The government has identified villages and districts with at least 400 potential beneficiaries for this scheme and plans to conduct specialized camps in these locations.
According to government data, the distribution through camps will begin after the official launch of the Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojana card distribution program by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann. The administration aims to complete the distribution in the designated camps within one week of the start.
Beneficiaries will be notified in advance about the camps so they can collect their cards on site. ASHA workers, ASHA facilitators, Sehat Mitras, and other field staff will be mobilized to ensure maximum participation and recipient mobilization.
In villages and districts with fewer than 400 potential beneficiaries, the existing home delivery system will continue to operate. Cards that are not distributed during the camps will also be delivered by ASHA workers and ASHA facilitators to the beneficiaries' addresses.
To strengthen last-mile delivery, the government has approved an incentive system for ASHA workers and facilitators. ASHA workers will receive 10 rupees for every successfully delivered Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojana card, and ASHA facilitators will receive 2 rupees per card. Officials will maintain records of home deliveries, and relevant health departments will be responsible for processing incentive applications.
The state health agency has already supplied the districts with the cards and Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) materials necessary for this operation. These materials include card covers, envelopes, and brochures for beneficiaries.
The Health Department has also instructed officials to closely monitor the distribution process and ensure compliance with established timelines and standard operating procedures. The government expects the remaining cards to be distributed via the home delivery mechanism within two weeks after the completion of camp activities.
The accelerated distribution campaign is aimed at ensuring that all eligible beneficiaries receive their Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojana cards within the stipulated time and are not left outside the program's coverage.
