Georgy Budny, Deputy CEO of Russia's 'Znanie' Society, stated in a video interview with TASS that the organization plans to expand its activities in Central Asian countries, including Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan.
He emphasized that the primary task is to revive the work of the 'Znanie' Society in post-Soviet countries. Special attention is currently being paid to the Central Asian countries: Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, the Republic of Uzbekistan, and Kazakhstan. Additionally, the society's projects are also being implemented in the Republic of Belarus.
According to Budny, residents of these countries are already familiar with the activities of the Russian 'Znanie' Society. He explained the focus on Central Asia by citing historical continuity, noting that the organization has existed since 1947.
The Deputy CEO added that the society operated throughout the entire Soviet Union and was one of the most influential educational structures. He also noted that the current activities of the society resonate with older generations in the regional countries.
Georgy Budny specified that representatives of these generations can participate in the organization's projects as lecturers and experts.
