The Honda CB300F was recently launched in the 2027 lineup, marking its first major update since early 2023. The main modifications focused on safety equipment, riding dynamics, comfort, and finish, giving the model a more sporty character.
Although the overall design has not undergone major changes, the 293.5 cc single-cylinder engine and the Diamond steel chassis remain virtually unaltered. The improvements were directed towards raising the standard of safety and usability of the motorcycle.
New Features in Range and Safety
There has been a restructuring of the model line: the previous CBS version has been discontinued, making the CB300F Twister ABS the new entry-level option. At the top of the line is the CB300F Twister S, which features exclusive visual elements and finishes.
The central technological innovation of the 2027 CB300F Twister is the HSTC (Honda Selectable Torque Control) system. This feature activates when it detects rear wheel slip during acceleration, being particularly useful on low-grip surfaces.
Furthermore, both versions have started incorporating the ABS system. This set consists of a 276 mm front disc with a two-piston caliper and a 220 mm rear disc with a one-piston caliper.
The gearbox maintains its six-speed configuration and preserves the assisted and sliding clutch, which helps reduce effort when operating the lever and prevents rear wheel slippage during gear changes.
Improvements in Handling and Engine
The 2027 CB300F Twister is equipped with a new inverted Showa SFF-BP front suspension, featuring 38 mm tubes and a 130 mm travel. The mesas of this suspension are made of aluminum, while retaining the Diamond steel chassis.
At the rear, the motorcycle continues to use a monoshock connected directly to the swingarm, equipped with a dual-stage spring and a 120 mm travel. The handlebars have also been revised and received new supports with bushings, as reported by Honda, aiming to enhance both handling and comfort.
The engine remains a 293.5 cc single-cylinder with an OHC architecture, four valves, and air cooling. The FlexOne technology allows the vehicle to be fueled with gasoline or ethanol. When using ethanol, the maximum power reaches 24.7 hp at 7,500 rpm, generating a torque of 2.67 kgf.m at 5,500 rpm. With gasoline, the values are 24.5 hp and 2.61 kgf.m, respectively.
Despite the numerous additions, the motorcycle's fundamental mechanical assembly has not undergone significant changes.
Electronic and Aesthetic Safety
Among the safety innovations, the HISS (Honda Ignition Security System) stands out, which uses an electronic chip in the original key to prevent the engine from starting with unauthorized keys via the ignition module.
The lighting remains full-LED, but the front turn indicators now also function as position lights, remaining continuously illuminated. Additionally, the 2027 CB300F Twister has received the ESS (Emergency Stop Signal), which automatically activates the indicators during sudden braking.
The blacked-out LCD digital dashboard has been enhanced with Optical Bonding technology, which reduces reflections caused by sunlight and optimizes information readability. Retained features include speedometer, tachometer, clock, fuel level, average and instantaneous consumption, range, and average speed, in addition to the USB-C port.
Aesthetic changes are also notable: the side tank fairings have been redesigned with more aggressive shapes, and the front fender has also been renewed.
The top-of-the-line version, CB300F Twister S, distinguishes itself even further from the ABS version by having exclusive graphics, red trim on the wheels, a red rear spring, and a tail cover that gives the motorcycle a monocoque appearance. However, the passenger seat is still offered as a standard item.
The new line will be available at Honda dealerships starting in August, accompanied by three years of unlimited mileage warranty. The brand also provides Pro Honda oil free of charge for seven services, starting from the third. The suggested retail price, excluding shipping and insurance, is R$ 26,880 for the CB300F Twister ABS and R$ 27,680 for the CB300F Twister S.
