IT Park Uzbekistan and the Serbian company SEE UP have signed an agreement to develop interaction between the startup ecosystems of the two countries.
The signing of the memorandum of understanding took place on September 3rd in Belgrade following a meeting between the IT Park Uzbekistan delegation and the CEO of SEE UP DOO, Dušan Obradović, as reported by IT Park Uzbekistan.
The delegation was headed by Abdulakhad Kuchkarov, advisor to the CEO of IT Park Uzbekistan. During the negotiations, the parties discussed opportunities for joint initiatives and support for international scaling of startups.
Key Areas of Cooperation
One of the key areas of partnership will be strengthening ties between the startup communities of Uzbekistan and Serbia. The parties plan to help Uzbek companies find opportunities in the Serbian market while simultaneously supporting Serbian startups in considering Uzbekistan as a platform for entering the Central Asian market.
The memorandum also provides for cooperation in the field of startup acceleration. IT Park Uzbekistan and SEE UP intend to exchange information on relevant programs and opportunities, as well as facilitate the participation of startups from both countries in related initiatives.
Furthermore, the partners plan to organize joint forums, webinars, business missions, and other events. It is expected that such formats will promote experience exchange, establishment of business contacts, and creation of new partnerships.
The parties also discussed cooperation in the fields of artificial intelligence, educational projects related to AI, as well as research and development. Possible forms of work include the exchange of expertise, launching pilot projects, and establishing connections between startups and specialized organizations in the two countries.
Another aspect was strengthening contacts among participants in the venture and investment ecosystems. This includes interaction between venture funds, business angels, and corporate investors, as well as the exchange of data on potential investment opportunities.
The signed memorandum lays the foundation for further practical cooperation between IT Park Uzbekistan and SEE UP, as well as for expanding international development opportunities for startups from Uzbekistan and Serbia.
