Uzbekistan strengthens legal protection for the agricultural sector

Uzbekistan has reinforced the legal mechanisms to protect the interests of organizations operating in the agrarian sector, according to Law No. ZRU-1170 dated September 9, 2026.

Tashkent, Uzbekistan

The new law introduces amendments and additions to a number of legislative acts, including the Law on State Duty. Under the new provisions, the Agency for the Development of the Agro-Industrial Complex under the Ministry of Agriculture is exempted from paying state duty when appealing to civil and economic courts.

This exemption applies to applications, complaints, and lawsuits filed by the agency to protect its own rights and legitimate interests, as well as the rights and legitimate interests of entities engaged in growing and processing fruits and vegetables, as well as greenhouse farming.

Thus, the agency will be able to appeal to the courts without paying state duty when defending the interests of these categories of organizations. The law enters into force on the date of its official publication.
