Iran is strengthening its trade presence by introducing seven new commercial attachés who are commencing work in target markets. Among the appointed specialists are Akbar Godari in Oman, Reza Bagherifard in Afghanistan, Mahmoud Eskandari in Belarus, Mohsen Montazeri in Malaysia, Seif Ali Zarbi in Russia, Darius Vossouhi in Turkey, and Mojtaba Molay Moein in India.
According to a report by IRNA, prepared by the Iranian Trade Promotion Organization, the head of this organization emphasized the need to implement a new, creative, and macro-oriented approach to developing export markets. He called for identifying new opportunities, protecting existing trade prospects, and creating new foundations for increasing the country's trade turnover.
Mohammad-Ali Dehghan Dehnavi, meeting with the seven selected commercial attachés ready for deployment, stressed the necessity of changing the approach to export development and developing creative initiatives tailored to the potential of each market. The Deputy Minister of Industry, Mining, and Trade noted that the commercial attachés must view their duties with a macro and developmental approach.
He stated that the role of a commercial attaché is not limited to routine tasks; instead, based on a deep understanding of the target market, its trade capabilities, and needs, they should create new prerequisites for increasing exports and activating trade.
According to Dehghan Dehnavi, the attachés must not only establish effective communication with traders and economic entities but also contribute to enhancing Iran's presence in target markets by identifying obstacles, simplifying trade processes, and proposing practical solutions.
He also pointed out that access to current and accurate trade information is one of the requirements for the attachés' activities, adding that constant interaction between the attachés, the internal sphere, the organization's specialized offices, and relevant authorities is an indispensable condition for timely data transmission and utilizing the latest trade opportunities.
The head of the Iranian Trade Promotion Organization also listed the protection and development of existing trade opportunities as other priorities for the commercial attachés. He emphasized that maintaining existing markets is as important as entering new ones, and actions must be planned to secure created opportunities and deepen ties with these markets.
Furthermore, Mortezah Salehi, deputy of the Iranian Trade Promotion Organization, highlighted the importance of coordination among attachés, embassies, relevant departments, economic institutions, and various centers in the destination countries. He noted that the synergy and consistency of these structures, combined with the special capabilities of the attachés, will help increase the effectiveness of their work.
According to an official of the Iranian Trade Promotion Organization, utilizing past experience, as well as applying creativity and initiative to create new chances, are among the requirements for the attachés' activities in light of the country's new foreign trade conditions.
