China has expressed concern over reports of a pilot project reportedly being implemented in Panama aimed at creating the world's first artificial intelligence supply chain certification platform. In response to media reports suggesting that this initiative serves Washington's goals of controlling the technological supply chain and containing China, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Gao Jiakun stated on Thursday that such steps are geopolitical calculations that harm the development of the Global South.
