China's Vice Premier, Ding Xuexiang, stated that China is ready to cooperate with all parties to promote global energy security and sustainable development. These statements were made by him on Thursday during his speech at the opening ceremony of the 16th APEC Ministerial Meeting on Energy in Beijing.
Ding, who is also a member of the Permanent Committee of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, emphasized that China will always uphold the stability of global energy markets, contribute to the global transition to a green and low-carbon economy, and participate in international energy cooperation.
The Vice Premier noted that China is actively engaged in pragmatic energy cooperation within APEC, effectively supporting regional energy development and making a significant contribution to ensuring global energy security.
To achieve the goals of global energy security and sustainable development, Ding called for the active development of distributed energy sources and charging infrastructure to strengthen inclusive energy development in the Asia-Pacific region. He also called for joint research and development of new technologies, such as digital grids and new energy storage, as well as promoting mature technologies and scenarios for their application to better support the energy transition in the Asia-Pacific region.
