Pocket Entertainment, the parent company of Pocket FM and Pocket Saga, has announced that its Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR) has surpassed $500 million. This represents a 70 percent increase compared to the previous year, achieved through the use of artificial intelligence in all aspects—from content creation and production to distribution—while the company demonstrates a healthy financial result.
The main driver of growth remains the Pocket FM platform, an AI-powered audio drama service. The growth is attributed to the global expansion of Pocket FM and the enhanced integration of AI into the processes of content creation, production, personalization, and distribution.
Harsha Kumar, a partner at Lightspeed, noted that AI is fundamentally changing the economics of entertainment businesses. He added that reaching an ARR of $500 million with a strong financial position is proof of this trend. Notably, Pocket FM has managed to scale while simultaneously improving audience retention, which, in his opinion, requires good taste.
On the Pocket FM platform, the revenue retention rate increased from 44 percent to 76 percent, indicating strengthening and longer listener engagement. Furthermore, the company expanded its content offering through licensing and adaptation partnerships, including a collaboration with Disney Publishing APAC, which provided 36 episodes of Marvel audio series for Hindi listeners.
Over the past year, Pocket FM entered the markets of the UK, Germany, and France, and also expanded its genre catalog to include thriller and fantasy. A user-generated content feature was launched in the US, increasing the total number of available stories for listeners.
Pocket Entertainment reported that this scale leads to an expansion of its franchise portfolio: 96 titles generate over $1 million in revenue each, and 13 of them exceed the $10 million mark. The Pocket FM platform integrates a global ecosystem of over 550,000 creators, its proprietary AI stack, and real-time audience analytics covering creation, production, localization, and distribution.
The company's creator ecosystem generates over 2.6 million hours of content annually, and the platform's library contains over 770,000 titles across eight different categories. Rohan Nayak, CEO and co-founder of Pocket Entertainment, stated that AI is ushering in a completely new era of entertainment, characterized by an abundance of high-quality content, the emergence of studios capable of creating blockbusters independently, and hyper-personalized experiences for every individual.
Nayak emphasized that creators are already succeeding by releasing stories that bring in millions of dollars, something that previously required large studios, large teams, significant budgets, and years of production. He believes that the next global entertainment phenomenon could emerge from anywhere, reach millions worldwide, and yet feel uniquely tailored for each person. Pocket Entertainment is building the platform for such a future, fundamentally expanding the possibilities of what can be created and how the world perceives entertainment.
Currently, Pocket FM listeners spend an average of 155 minutes per day on the platform, with 51 percent of weekly active users using the service daily.
