New Type of LCD Displays
Displays with Memory In Pixel (MIP) technology are capable of maintaining illuminated points without consuming energy, making them ideal for use in watches. One of the first examples is the Casio GBX-H5600-1, priced at 289 euros. This gadget has a higher resolution than standard digital watches and resembles a smartwatch externally, offering features such as heart rate monitoring and calorie counting. Furthermore, its rechargeable battery can last up to a year thanks to partial solar energy harvesting.
Active Windows
Active noise cancellation (noise canceling) technology, previously known from headphones, is now being applied to windows. The DeNoize device analyzes external noise and uses an invisible vibrator to create opposing sound waves that neutralize this noise. This technology was developed in the Netherlands and is already undergoing trials: installation is planned for 15 houses in the Schiphol airport area in Amsterdam. The manufacturer has not disclosed either the price of the window or precise data on noise reduction in decibels.
Compact Gamepad
Although smartphones have long become a good platform for gaming, the issue of bulky controllers designed for them persists. The Mcon product (priced at 130 US dollars) promises to solve this problem as it is the size of a smartphone and attaches magnetically to it. The accessory weighs 197 grams, is compatible with iOS and Android operating systems, is equipped with Hall effect joysticks that do not degrade in calibration over time, unlike standard ones, and provides up to 9 hours of playtime on a single charge.
Heater with Crypto Functionality
The Heatbit Trio (priced at 850 US dollars) is a heater measuring 68 cm high and weighing 12 kg, capable of heating an area of up to 37 square meters. It operates silently and consumes 1400 watts/hour of electricity, comparable to a standard heater. However, in addition to heating, it performs another function—cryptocurrency mining. Essentially, the Trio is a computer, and the heat is generated by specialized mining chips. According to the manufacturer, these chips produce enough Bitcoin to cover 20% of the device's electricity costs.
