The Fourth Academic Week of the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (SemEA FAU) is scheduled to take place between October 21 and 23, 2026. The central theme of this event is 'Roots in network: breaking borders and intertwining Latin American territories.'
Before the start of the main academic week, two promotional activities will be held. On September 11, the Academic Center of FAU-UFRJ (CAFAU) will host a party themed 'Latin Night' at the CAFAU headquarters, featuring a DJ and a bingo with SemEA prizes.
Another celebration will take place on September 25, under the theme Charm, a Brazilian cultural movement. This event will include a charm class taught by a professor before the party begins.
Structure of the Academic Week
The academic week, which will run from October 21 to 23, was organized into five distinct segments: plenary sessions, lunch, workshops, coffee breaks, and recreational moments.
The plenary sessions will be held in the morning in the hall of the Jorge Machado Moreira building. Their purpose is to foster deeper discussions and reflections on the event's thematic axes, which are: Desnortear, Reappropriate, and Sulear. Invited speakers will address the proposed debates based on these axes.
After lunch, the workshops will take place in different rooms of the building. They aim to present a more practical perspective of the activities related to the theme, covering examples such as dance, art, or digital course workshops.
The recreational moments, following the coffee break, will conclude the event days with interactive activities, such as raffles, bingos, and parties.
